Snow, Snow and MORE Snow

So we may not have gotten as much as Utah or Colorado BUT with all the wind it created huge snowdrifts that pretty much covered our driveway in about a foot of snow. Nate barely made it out of the driveway this morning and ended up coming back home about 30 minutes after leaving. He tried to pull out a couple hours later and his car was stuck. It even took the Mountaineer a couple tries to get up the little hill at the end of the driveway. We spent an hour or so digging out around Nate's car and a path for my car so I could park in the driveway. Olivia loved every minute of it! It made the perfect little sledding hill for Livi.

Pump up the Jam...

Glenn Beck Tribute to Pres. Hinckley

For those of you who don't know Nate and I are big Glenn Beck fans. He gave a tribute to President Hinckley on his tv show Monday night. Check it out at:

In case you haven't heard already, Pres. Hinckley passed away last night. He was the Prophet I remember most because I was about 15/16 when he was called. He was a great man and prophet and we will miss him.

First ski lesson

This was Livi's first time on skis. We just had her slide around in Nana and Papa's driveway. We hadn't bought the edgie wedgie yet to keep her skis together but she loved it. She has told me several times since that she loves her edgie wedgie. She had a blast sledding down the driveway with her cousin Emily. We could hardly talk her into coming back inside to warm up.

My Six:

1. I'm a quilting fool.... Probably about 6 or 7 years ago I swore up and down to my Mom that I would NEVER want to make quilts. Now I can't stop! I now have a huge stash of fabric yet I keep buying more. My favorite quilt to make is a baby quilt. I have actually helped make several baby bedding sets for families. I love to design them and quilts.

2. I'm a shopaholic. Yes, I know--real shocker there! It's really Holly Perry's fault. JK There's just something satisfying in buying something cute for a great price! It's addicting!

3. I love being a Mom--I know that's been used but seriously kids are awesome! Livi says the most hilarious things. Lately she is into giving "loves" (a hug) randomly. It's great! I could write all day about her but I'll save that for another post.

4. I like to change stuff around at home. I actually started this sometime in junior high. I like to move furniture around, paint walls, redesign... although with all the remodeling here I'm starting to slow down a little. It usually takes me 2 or 3 tries to get a design I like.

5. I'm a hair "dye"er and highlighter. I have been changing my hair color every couple of months since I was 15 or 16. I LOVE red hair and now that I am older I don't change it as drastically as I used to. I totally come by it honestly as my Grammie miraculously does not have gray hair yet....

6. "The Office" is my favorite show. This writer's strike bites! I have the theme song as my cell phone ring. I was so glad Jim and Pam finally hooked up. Kevin and Dwight are hilarious. It's great fun!
