Baby Olivia & Baby Ellie

My 2 girls... Olivia is the bottom 2 pictures and Ellie is the top 2. I would have told you that they had the same amount of hair.... WRONG! I can't believe how much hair Livi had! She weighed almost a whole pound more than Ellie and we think Livi shows it in the cheeks. Such cute kids!

Landon & Ellie's 1st Christmas

It was fun having to newborns for Christmas this year! Ellie was 2 weeks and Landon almost 3 weeks. (Landon belongs to my brother Billy) Ellie is soooo tiny that Landon seems huge to me but he's not much bigger than Olivia was when she was born. Ellie is finally starting to chunk up a little :) Maybe she'll catch up to you Landon... Gotta love the crazy eyes!

Homemade Wheat Bread

Nate is a really great cook when he wants to be! His parents gave us a wheat grinder for Christmas and he could hardly wait to use it. He made this recipe that made 4 loaves and I thought that would be too much but it's almost gone already! It is delicious! Thanks Mom & Dad Coburn!

Best Sleep-over at Grandma's EVER!

Olivia got to stay with Grandma & Grandpa for a couple days while we were at the hospital. She has been super excited about having the baby come but after seeing the gingerbread house that Brayden got to make while he stayed there, her priorities quickly changed! She was much more excited to make the gingerbread house! She is constantly picking at it and I'm suprised there is any candy left! The icing dried super hard so it takes some work to get the candy off!

Our little glow worm

We have our very own live glow worm in the house! Ellie has jaundice and we have to keep a special light on her 24/7. It's like she has to be plugged in--the cord comes out right behind her neck. Hopefully she will get over this soon so I can cuddle her better. I am getting used to her being tied to that thing but it's still a pain.

It's Baby Day!

Princess #2 made her debut early this morning! I was induced starting at 6pm at a 2 and by 11pm I was having some serious contractions and at a 6-7. The doc, anethesiologist, and nurse had to hurry in. I finally got my epidural at 12:15ish ( a few contractions later than I preferred) and then she was born at 1:58am Wed, Dec 10th weighing 6lbs 10ozs and 18 1/2 inches long. She is super cute of course! It took us a long time to come up with her name; almost 12 hours after she was born we settled on Elisabeth Sally Coburn and we will call her Ellie. I think it fits her perfectly! She's hardly cried since she was born and has been fast asleep most of the day, but she just hates getting her bum wiped! Olivia is on her way to meet her new sister and we are all excited to have her here!

Baby Names

Ok, we're down to crunch time on names as I leave for the hospital in an hour... Please vote on the poll to the left! We need a name! :)

Family Baby Shower

My awesome Aunt Becky threw Megan and I a joint baby shower. It was lots of fun! Megan had a boy yesterday and I'm expecting this girl to come soon so we had lots of matching pink and blue stuff! It was like they're going to be twins! I'm a little behind posting pictures of this because I managed to forget my camera and Shawna was super nice to make me a CD of all her pics! It was lots of fun to get together with just the girls of the family and party! Thank you all!!!

Super fun baby shower :)

That's right--It's pretty much how I feel at 39 weeks!

My BFF Holly threw me a fun baby shower today! She of course had WAY too much fun making the cupcakes but they were worth the heartburn! It was lots of fun and I of course came away with more super cute girl clothes! Thank you everyone that came and to Holly for doing this!!! You're the best!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

It's starting to look like Christmas around the house! Now outside needs to catch up--it was 55 today! We went to the Festival of trees and Livi LOVED the purple & pink tree.
Grammie bought Livi this super cute Christmas dress and she looked like a little princess today at church. Baby update--I have an appointment Monday and I will be induced on the 10th if she hasn't made an appearance yet!

36 weeks and the countdown begins...

This is pretty much how I look every day at 36 weeks... Nate says it looks like a ball defying gravity. Then I have Miss Olivia who has been sick since November 1st
hanging on my leg. Just an average day! I am scheduled to be induced on Dec 10th! Yahoo!!! I'm still a little nervous she is going to come before then.

Is it still Halloween?

Our neighborhood puts out dumpsters for fall cleanup and one of them happens to be right across the street from us. I had to laugh when I looked out and saw Chucky hanging off the side... Luckily, Livi just thinks it's a doll no one wants anymore.

Happy Halloween!!!

The big day finally came... Olivia has been talking about Halloween since August! We finally settled on a fairy princess and got to work!
I think her favorite parts were her pink sparkly tiara and wand. She kept turning Nate into a frog with her magic wand.

Our two cute fairies... Olivia and cousin Brooklyn.

All the kids got quite the haul but I think Brooklyn surpassed them all cause at each place she would say "One more???"--good thing 2 year olds are so stinkin' cute!
Happy Halloween!!!

Birthday trip to Spokane

Nate took me to Spokane for my birthday... OK, he had a work conference there, but it was great to have a few quiet days to myself. Olivia stayed with Grandma and had a blast. We were about 6 blocks away from a park and a mall. Coincidentally, the same park and mall I had gone to my Senior year with the choir. I came home from that trip with REALLY short hair. So, I had to keep up with tradition and here is the haircut I got on this trip. Not the greatest picture...

Nate gave me money to spend for my birthday so I had a great time shopping and hanging out at the mall! We had a great time there but we were both ready to come home to our own bed.

Pumpkin Patch

Somehow we always end up going to the pumpkin patch at night on the coldest day of the week (after 70 degree temps the day before). So once again, we were at the pumpkin patch last night, cold wind blowing and the sky getting dark. Olivia had lots of fun and really liked seeing the camel and zebra they had. She also got to ride a pony, ride in a barrel ride pulled behind a tractor, go on the hay ride and slide on the jumbo slide and play in the jump houses. We topped the evening off with fresh mini donuts and a sucker. By the time we got our pumpkins it was really cold and really dark so we just grabbed a couple and were done. Now that it is daylight, they look pretty decent :)

For those of you at the Smith Family Reunion in Albion--here is video of Livi on the jumbo slide WITHOUT water. She liked that a lot better... Sorry about the direction of the video...I wasn't thinking straight.

Halloween Treat

Nate brought home carmel apples from the candy store in Weiser a couple weeks ago. The carmel was extra delicious and extra sticky! I thought it migh pull my teeth out! Olivia tried to eat it on a stick but it was hard so we cut it into slices. By the end she was just eating the apple and leaving the skin and carmel. That was one expensive apple but sooooo good.

Fruits of our labor

Even though we didn't plant our garden until the first week of July, we did get something from it. This was our biggest watermelon. Olivia loved it but had to pick out all the seeds with her fingers. We also go some tomatoes out of the garden before it froze.

29 weeks belly

Me and Megan at 29 and 30 weeks. I think Megan wears it better!
Everyone keeps telling me how small I look so I had to take a "my perspective" shot because to me I look rather big--and in this shirt, I really look like a watermellon is in there!

Who needs the zoo?

We went to Cabela's today and saw the fish and all the stuffed animals... Olivia loved every minute of it! Even the "ugly" fish. Who needs the zoo when you have a Cabelas?

Quiet Sunday Afternoon Activities with Grandpa

Yes, we are teaching our kids reverence on Sunday afternoon. For some reason these three kids can sound like 30 kids when they get together! (They were even starting to wind down a little) As a disclaimer, Grandpa started it! And yes, Olivia is wearing bright orange haloween socks with her pink outfit but her Great Grammie just got home from a long trip to CA and brought lots of gifts for the kids--also the reason Brooklyn has about 5 or 6 different pretties in her hair :)

Rain Rain GO AWAY!!!

It was time for the Womens Fitness Celebration 5k Saturday and I wasn't going to go but then my Grammie did not make it home from California in time so I took her spot. I have to say I could have done without the rain. Of course it rained the whole time (slowed down for a few minutes while I was using the restroom) and then as soon as we were done and in a nice warm restaurant the sun was shining. I thought I did pretty good for being 28 weeks prego--luckily my Mom likes to walk slow :)
Me, Holly, and Tess... really dry and still ok with waling in the pouring down rain.
Atleast I had my umbrella...

Where's the hot chocolate? My umbrella kept the top half of me dry but my pants were pretty soaked. Tess and I were talking about how our feet were a little wet as we stepped in a huge puddle in the grass at the park. That made for super wet feet.

Overall, it was fun but next year better be sunny!

Alien invades the Coburn house...

Oh wait... it was Olivia! She's pretty entertaining to watch dress herself. She is still learning that you can't pull it under your chin first and then the rest of your head. Especially when you have pretties in your hair :)

Yummy for my tummy!!!

Mmmmm.... Nothing like freshly baked chocolate cookies. This is the BEST recipe by far in my opinion. It was given to me at my bridal shower from Nate's friend Rock's mom--THANK YOU--best gift ever!!!
Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 ½ cups sugar
1 ½ cups brown sugar (packed)
1 cup butter
1 cup butter flavored Crisco shortening
4 eggs
¼ cup water
2 tsp vanilla
6 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp soda
1 12oz. package milk chocolate chips

Cream sugars + shortening + butter. Blend in eggs until fluffy. (stop as soon as it looks fluffy!—trust me) Add water and vanilla then dry ingredients. Add chocolate chips and nuts (if desired—I haven’t ever desired them though). Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Let set on tray for a few minutes before moving to cooling rack.

This makes a TON of cookies (probably like 4-5 dozen if you do small ones…) I think I have already eaten about a dozen and I just cooked the last batch like 30 minutes ago… Delicious!

BSU Cheerleader in the Making...

Isn't she just the cutest! I just couldn't pass up the outfit--she had to have it! (she's not spoiled one bit) Her cousin Brooklyn has a matching outfit and it was so fun to watch them play. Even BYU fan Macey got into the Bronco spirit in her orange dress! Go Broncos!

24 Weeks

I am now 24 weeks prego. She is a squirmer and of course likes to wiggle when I'm going to sleep. Nate was making me laugh in the picture . We all had the flu last week and that seemed to shake the last little bit of nasuea out of me! I finally actually FEEL like doing things! (other than work of course) My friend Holly came over on Wednesday and we made bows... I kept going for like 3 more hours after she left and this is my haul.

I've also made a few baby quilts (a couple were almost done anyways) and a lap size quilt. It is starting to dawn on me that I'd better enjoy my independence as much as possible as Livi is quite capable of tending to herself so I can do all this stuff! I'm crossing my fingers for another good baby like her :)

Great Educational Website

There is a great educational website that Olivia LOVES to play. I thought I would pass it along. It is starfall.com. It has a ton of books they can read along with games and videos. She would play it all day if I let her! The sections start with the alphabet up to more complex stories. Good times for any child 3+!

Girls, Girls, Girls!

It's official.... After much begging and pleading Nate set me up with the ultra sound tech at the hospital last Wednesday. I drank some mountain dew to get the baby moving and it seemed to work. So we are having another girl! Olivia wants to name her Sally Lou-Who... I guess it's better than Cinderella (that's what she wanted to name my friend's baby). Sorry about the lack of pictures... The tech could not get any good profile shots but I don't care cause at least I know it's a girl! I was going to put a pic of my big belly on but I'm in my pjs and I'm too lazy to do it. To you all who voted boy on the poll---sorry, you were wrong!

Smith Family Reunion 2008

We just had our Smith Family Reunion with all of my family in Albion, ID. Some people from my parents ward bought an old college that has been empty for like 40-50 years and they are remodeling it to make it into a family reunion spot. They have one building done and it was great! We stayed in what used to be the men's dorm. There are something like 16 bedrooms. They totally gutted the whole building and only kept the hardwood floors so it was charming and old yet nice and clean and modern. Check it out more at albionreunions.com. Our Grammie (great Grammie to Olivia) rented a big blow up water slide for us to play on. It was a little to big and fast for Olivia so she figured out she could slide down the side with the steps. She kept at it even when the big boys were wildly sliding down the main side. We all had a blast!
