Who needs the zoo?
Quiet Sunday Afternoon Activities with Grandpa
Yes, we are teaching our kids reverence on Sunday afternoon. For some reason these three kids can sound like 30 kids when they get together! (They were even starting to wind down a little) As a disclaimer, Grandpa started it! And yes, Olivia is wearing bright orange haloween socks with her pink outfit but her Great Grammie just got home from a long trip to CA and brought lots of gifts for the kids--also the reason Brooklyn has about 5 or 6 different pretties in her hair :)

Rain Rain GO AWAY!!!
Where's the hot chocolate? My umbrella kept the top half of me dry but my pants were pretty soaked. Tess and I were talking about how our feet were a little wet as we stepped in a huge puddle in the grass at the park. That made for super wet feet.
Overall, it was fun but next year better be sunny!

Alien invades the Coburn house...
Yummy for my tummy!!!
1 ½ cups brown sugar (packed)
1 cup butter
1 cup butter flavored Crisco shortening
4 eggs
¼ cup water
2 tsp vanilla
6 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp soda
1 12oz. package milk chocolate chips
Cream sugars + shortening + butter. Blend in eggs until fluffy. (stop as soon as it looks fluffy!—trust me) Add water and vanilla then dry ingredients. Add chocolate chips and nuts (if desired—I haven’t ever desired them though). Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Let set on tray for a few minutes before moving to cooling rack.
This makes a TON of cookies (probably like 4-5 dozen if you do small ones…) I think I have already eaten about a dozen and I just cooked the last batch like 30 minutes ago… Delicious!
